Prep Time 30 minutes mins
Cook Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry - thawed
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened - 113 grams
- 2½ tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 medium plums - sliced
- 1 large egg+1 tablespoon water - (egg wash)
- sanding sugar - optional for topping
Let the puff pastry thaw on the counter for about 30-40 minutes. It should still be cold but you should be able to unfold without breaking it.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, add in the cream cheese, honey and vanilla extract. Mix with a spoon or whisk until it's smooth.
Divide the dough into 9 squares (3 by 3 inches) with a pizza or pastry cutter. You can also use a sharp knife. Place the squares on the lined baking sheet.
Using a knife, score about ¼ inch border around the sides. Do not cut completely through the dough. This way the edges will puff up nicely, and the filling will not over flow.
Whisk the egg with one tablespoon of water and brush the sides of pastries.
Spread one tablespoon of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry. Top it with about 4 slices of plum. Sprinkle the tops and sides with sanding sugar if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
You can brush the tops with some more honey. Enjoy!
