This Mango and banana smoothie is healthy, naturally sweetened and so refreshing and delicious! It takes minutes to make and is the perfect summer drink.
What do we need for a mango banana smoothie?
Frozen bananas to make it creamy, mangoes, a splash of almond milk or regular milk, yogurt, vanilla to give it an even better taste and shredded coconut for a subtle coconuty taste and texture.
What type of mango should I use?
So, before making this smoothie I didn’t know there are SO MANY types of mangoes! I tried it with this yellow mango first, which I believe are called Ataulfo Mangoes (correct me if I’m wrong). It was delicious but a little on the tangier side. So if you like sweet and tangy desserts and drinks you are going to enjoy this too.
Then I tried it with this red mango which was super sweet and delicious! I personally preferred it more with this one because it was so sweet I didn’t need to add any honey or other sweeteners to it.
So my advice is just to taste the mango before using it and if it’s a little tangy, add some honey to your smoothie.

Mango Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and sliced - about 1 cup
- 1 medium banana, sliced and frozen
- ½ cup almond milk - or regular milk
- ¼ cup yogurt
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract - optional
- 1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut - optional
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. You can skip shredded coconut, but I like the subtle taste and texture it gives. This smoothie is super creamy and on the thicker side, if you like it a little runnier, add a splash of almond milk and blend together.
- If you like your smoothie sweeter, you can add some honey and blend to combine.
- Enjoy!
