You can make this mug cake in under 5 minutes and it requires just a few simple ingredients.
All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together, pour the batter into a mug and microwave for about 1 minute!
Chocolate Mug Cake
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1.5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 teaspoon instant coffee granules (optional, but it enhances the chocolate flavor)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 5 tablespoons milk
- a few semi-sweet chocolate chips – optional
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, add in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, instant coffee and sugar, whisk well to combine.
- Add in milk and oil, whisk until combined.
- Pour the batter into a microwave safe mug and sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.
- Microwave for 1 minute or until the cake is risen and it is just set. Be careful not to overcook. The timing is different depending on your microwave wattage. Mine took 1 minute and 30 seconds because my microwave is low wattage. (900 watt)
- You can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
